Licensing & Updates Policy

This page explains the license in plain words. The legally binding terms are in the End User License Agreement; if anything here differs, the EULA applies.

Free trial

30 days with every Agency feature, limited to 5 crawls, 5 speed tests and 2 site migrations, one per computer. Reinstalling the App or Windows does not start a new trial on the same computer.

Activation and license checks

• A license is activated by entering its key in the App; this needs an internet connection.
• The App checks the license in the background every few days and keeps working offline for up to 30 days between successful checks.
• A computer is recognised by a one-way hash of its Windows installation id and motherboard model. Reinstalling Windows or replacing the motherboard makes it a new computer – simply activate the key again.

Moving to another computer

• Solo: activate the key on the new computer; the previous computer is deactivated automatically. This works even if the previous computer is broken, lost or stolen.
• Agency: while fewer than 10 computers are in use, a new computer simply takes a free seat. When all 10 are in use, you choose which computer the new one replaces.
• Deactivate: License → Deactivate this computer frees a seat at any time.
• Fair use: to prevent key sharing, a license can be moved up to 3 times per seat in any 30 days. Support can move it further when you need it.
• A computer that was replaced stops working with the license at its next check.

Updates

• Every version released during your update period is yours to use forever.
• A version released after your update period ended will not run with your license; the App tells you so and you can either renew updates or keep using a version released before the date shown.
• Release dates are shown on the Download page and in the App.

Renewals

• Renewal is optional and never automatic.
• It costs 40% of the current list price of your license and adds 12 months, counted from the later of the renewal date or the end of your current update period – renewing early never loses time.
• Renew on the Pricing page with your license key.

Upgrading from Solo to Agency

Pay only the difference between the two plans on the Pricing page. The same key becomes an Agency license right after payment – press Check now in the App – and the update period does not change.

When a license stops working

A license is deactivated if its purchase is refunded or charged back, or if the EULA is breached (for example by sharing the key publicly). Your data on your computer is never deleted by us.
