Privacy Policy – O2X – SEO Tool
Effective date: 22 October 2026
This policy explains how O2 Digital, 128 Infirmary Road, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, S6 3DH, United Kingdom (“we”, “us”), handles personal information in connection with the O2X – SEO Tool desktop application (the “App”), its free trial, its license server and the purchase of licenses. Our general website privacy policy and cookie policy apply to your visit to seo2agency.com.
1. The short version
- Your crawls, audits, reports, projects and client data stay on your computer. We never receive them.
- To run the trial and the license, the App sends us a small set of technical data: a one-way hash of the computer id, the computer name, Windows and App versions, your IP address, the license key and the trial usage counters.
- When you buy, Paddle (our reseller) processes the payment and gives us your name, email address, country and order details.
- We do not sell or share personal information for advertising, and we do not use it for profiling.
2. Information we collect
| Category | What | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Device identifiers | A SHA-256 hash of the Windows installation id and motherboard model (the raw identifiers never leave your computer); the computer name | The App |
| Technical data | Windows version, App version, IP address, dates of activation and of the last license check | The App and our server |
| License data | License key, plan, number of computers, update period, activation and transfer history | Our license server |
| Trial data | Trial start and end dates, number of crawls, speed tests and migrations started | The App |
| Customer data | Name, email address, company name, country, order id, amount and currency (no card details) | Paddle, after your purchase |
| Communications | Emails you send to support and our replies | You |
The App does not send us the websites you crawl, crawl results, reports, Search Console / Analytics imports, agency profile, files or any other content you create.
When you crawl or test websites, the App connects directly from your computer to those websites and, if you use them, to Google PageSpeed Insights and other services you choose. Those connections are not made through us.
3. Why we use it
- To provide the App and the license you bought (performance of a contract): start and run the trial, activate the license, let you move it between computers, apply update renewals, send the license key and service emails.
- To prevent abuse and fraud (legitimate interests): one trial per computer, limits on computers and transfers, protection against key guessing and payment fraud.
- To provide support and answer your requests.
- To meet legal obligations, such as tax and accounting records and responding to lawful requests.
We do not send marketing emails unless you ask to receive them, and every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
4. Who receives it
- Paddle.com – our reseller and Merchant of Record, which processes payments, sales tax, invoices and refunds as an independent controller under its own privacy policy.
- Service providers who host our website and license server (Hostinger) and deliver our emails (Hostinger email), under contracts that limit their use of the data.
- Authorities when the law requires it, and a successor if our business is sold or merged.
We do not sell personal information and do not “share” it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined by California law.
5. How long we keep it
- License, activation and customer data: for as long as the license exists, plus the period required by tax and accounting law (up to 7 years after the last purchase).
- Trial data: up to 24 months after the trial ends (to enforce one trial per computer), then deleted or anonymised.
- Security logs: up to 12 months.
- Support emails: up to 3 years after the conversation ends.
6. Security
Data is sent over HTTPS, stored in a database protected by access controls, and the App receives only signed answers from the license server. Computer identifiers are hashed on your computer before they are sent. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the data.
7. Your rights
You may ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, give you a copy, correct it, or delete it. Residents of California and of other US states with comprehensive privacy laws (for example Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas and Oregon) have these rights under their state laws, including the right to know, access, correct and delete, the right to opt out of sale, sharing and targeted advertising (we do none of these) and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising their rights. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our answer.
To exercise a right, email o2xprivacy@seo2agency.com from the email address used for your purchase, or include the last five characters of your license key. We verify requests before acting on them and answer within 45 days. An authorised agent may make a request on your behalf with your written permission.
Deleting your data ends the license if we can no longer verify it; we will tell you before we do so. You can also delete everything stored on your own computer by deleting %LOCALAPPDATA%\O2 SEO Tool.
8. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
The App does not track you across websites. Our website honours Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out of any sale or sharing; it does not respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals, for which there is no common standard.
9. Children
The App is a professional tool for businesses and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. International processing
We are based in the United Kingdom and our license server is hosted in the United Kingdom. By using the App from the United States, your data is transferred to and processed in those countries, with the safeguards described in this policy.
11. Changes
We will publish any change on this page with a new effective date and, for significant changes, notify license holders by email.
