How It Works
- Install and Activate:
- Download the ZIP file.
- Access your WordPress backend dashboard.
- Go to the “Plugins” section.
- Click on “Add New Plugin.”
- Click on the “Upload Plugin” button located at the upper left.
- Click on the “Choose File” button.
- Upload the ZIP file.
- After installation, click on “Activate Plugin.”
- Configure in Seconds: Navigate to Settings > News Sitemap. Tick the boxes for the categories and post types you want to include. Click “Save Settings”. Then, click on the “Generate News Sitemap Now” button to generate the sitemap for the first time.

The sitemap line is not appearing in my robots.txt file. Why?
This plugin modifies the virtual robots.txt file generated by WordPress. If you have a physical robots.txt file in your website’s root directory (created via FTP or a file manager), that file will take priority. In that case, you must manually add the following line to your physical robots.txt file: Sitemap: https://yourdomain.com/news-sitemap.xml
-> where “https://yourdomain.com” should be changed to your exact domain’s URL.
